Elementary Pilot Paragliding Course

This 3 day course offers the most direct route to gaining a solid understanding of basic paragliding techniques. You will learn to control the canopy during progressively higher flights, as well as perfecting your take-off and landing skills. You will gain a sound understanding of the principles of paragliding flight on this course. Note days do not have to be taken consecutively.

Training on the Hill
1. Ground training.
2. Ground handling.
3. First hops.
4. Low level flights.

Classroom
1. Theory lectures on meteorology, theory of flight & air law.
2. Elementary pilot course exam & debrief.
3. Final assessment.

• We recommend you arrive suitably equipped for the mountains e.g. comfortable, warm clothing, boots, gloves, food & drink.
• All paragliding equipment is supplied.
• Course timings may be adjusted depending on weather conditions.

All students must join the BHPA for insurance purposes. We arrange this on the first day of training at the following rates:

• 3 Months BHPA Membership £55.00 (£15.00 BHPA joining fee + £40.00 Training Membership).
• 12 Months BHPA Membership £92.00 (£15.00 BHPA joining fee + £77.00 Training Membership).
